His approach

How Dr. Pimienta cares for you

Digestive symptoms can be personal, uncomfortable to talk about and hard to describe. Dr. Pimienta’s visits start with your story: what you are feeling, how long it has been going on, what you have tried and what worries you most.

  • Listening first. Your history often points to the answer before any test does.
  • Evidence-based care. Recommendations follow current medical guidelines and the research behind them, explained in plain language.
  • Only the tests you need. When a test or procedure will change your care, he explains why, what it involves and what the results mean.
  • Decisions made together. You leave with a plan you understand and agree with, and a clear way to reach the office with questions.
  • Prevention matters. From colorectal cancer screening to liver health and weight management, he looks at your long-term health, not only today’s symptom.

Care in Spanish

Dr. Pimienta sees patients in English and Spanish. For many families in Los Angeles, being able to describe symptoms and ask questions in their own language makes a real difference, and this website is available in Spanish too.
