Michael Pimienta, MD ("the practice", "we", "us") is a gastroenterology practice in Los Angeles. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website. Your health information as a patient is protected under federal and California law, as explained in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Information you give us
The website collects information only when you choose to send it through the appointment request form or the message form. These forms ask for:
- Your name, mobile phone number and email address
- Whether you are a new or returning patient
- Whether you would like an in-person or video visit, and how you plan to pay
- The general reason for your visit, and anything you type in the message box
Please keep health details brief in the form. Do not send Social Security numbers, card numbers or other payment details through the website. Dr. Pimienta will go over your health with you at your visit.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, the company that hosts this site keeps standard server logs. These logs can include your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, the pages you visit, and the date and time. Hosting providers use them to deliver pages, keep the site secure and fix problems.
The fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address and browser details, as described in Google's own privacy policy.
This website does not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or social media tracking pixels.
How we use your information
We use the information you send only to respond to you: to call, text or email you back, schedule your visit, and explain coverage or pricing. We do not use it for advertising.
Messages sent through the website forms go directly to the practice's secure inbox in its electronic health record. That system is provided by our electronic health record vendor, Hero EMR, under a business associate agreement, a contract that requires it to protect health information as HIPAA requires.
We do not sell your information

- We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing.
- We share information only with service providers who help us run the practice and the website, as required by law, or with your permission.
Text messages
We send text messages only if you agree to receive them, for example when you give us your mobile number and ask us to contact you. Texts are about your appointments and care, such as scheduling, reminders and requests to complete forms. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, and reply HELP for help. You can also call us at (424) 281-7392. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of receiving care. We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties for their marketing.
Children
The practice cares for adults. This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through it.
Security
This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and form messages are sent to the practice's secure inbox. No website or internet connection is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive details through the form. For anything urgent or private, call the office.
Your choices
You can ask us what information you sent through this website, or ask us to correct it. Information that becomes part of your medical record is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices and medical record laws.
